Some news on the new jamiroquai album

From funkin.com: For the new album which is due for release around March/April 2005, a selection of bass players have been used to give a different feel to some of the tracks. The band have used Alex Meadows, Derrick McIntyre (Roy Ayers) and Randy Hope-Taylor (Incognito, Jeff Beck). Julian Crampton, another well respected bass player, has been used on a mix of one of the tracks that Derrick McKenzie has worked on.

Hey, this is quite intereseting!

How are they planning to do the live show? I mean, of course they won't take them all on the road, the question now is:

WHO'S THE REAL BASS PLAYER FOR JAMIROQUAI????

Yes, I just read it too! Very interesting. I guess Jay was just sick of bass players dropping out on him, so he just got some session players :cheesy:
I think that this is actually sort of the next-best-thing, for Jamiroquai bassist-wise! I mean, sure we'd all like Stuart to go back there, but it aint never gonna happen. I think, with different bassplayers, the Jamiroquai sound will be a lot more versatile! And some of those names give me the feeling it will be going back a bit to the old sound, as well! (us oldskool-jami-fans always want that old sound back eh? maybe I should be more open to a new sound...or..? nahh 8) )

I guess alex meadows must be the bassist but maybe cos of his 'rock' foundations they felt they needed to bring in other sources to get the vibes on certain tracks and probably he'll just be playing the lines that these other artists have layed down on their tracks and obviously the ones he's layed down on his tracks.

2 of my favourite bassist's on the new Jamiroquai album!!! For those who dont know, they are the old Incognito boys - Randy Hope-Taylor and Julian Crampton (one of the most underated bassists about, I know bloop is with me on this one ;-))

sorry to dissapoint guys but i nicked it off someone elses avatar on some other forum can't remember where tho :( but its pretty cool. Not sure how to resize it to wallpaper size without it going all blurry :( cos its only a 120x120 image

Maybe this is a good sign... Who knows, but maybe they are trying to get all of us again as fans of Jamiroquai, for the next records...
have said it before, Jamiroquai always seemed to me like a session band, so this is perfect for me... Can't wait.
